After missing our flight to Abu Dhabi, Jacob and I had a new flight path which gave us a 15 hour layover in New York. We met up with some friends and managed to organize a doors-off helicopter flight over the city. This was in November and the freezing wind stung as it hit your face.

YOSEMITE

One of the most insane views I've ever seen. We camped at the top, woke up early to catch the sunrise and spent the morning admiring Yosemite valley from above.

One of the most insane views I’ve ever seen. We camped at the top, woke up early to catch the sunrise and spent the morning admiring Yosemite valley from above.

We camped on top of north dome as the full moon rose over half dome. A few hours later was a full lunar eclipse, turning the full moon a dim orange, and allowing the Milky Way to become visible with the naked eye.

Rainbows don’t happen often... so when I saw a rainbow forming over Tunnel View in Yosemite Valley, I scrambled to get my camera ready and take a few shots before the moment passed.

MOJAVE & DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

Josiah Gordon and I were living out of a minivan while road tripping through the deserts of California. On one of out last days the sky exploded in colour above us. The vibrant clouds were overwhelming and after taking a few photos we just sat down and took in the moment. This was the best sunset I have ever seen.

Sunset in Death Valley. We hiked to the top of the dunes as the clouds seemed to catch fire. I sat in the soft sand and watched the sun go down in the complete silence of the desert- no living things to make noise, and an endless expanse of space.
